2018 Goals and Objectives
Include Mercerdale Park in the Mercer Island Open Space Conservancy Trust. Including Mercerdale Park in the Trust will protect it in perpetuity and truly save it from development.
Prepare to mount a SEPA legal challenge should MICA resume their building plans in Mercerdale Park.
Gain Wildlife Sanctuary Certification for the Mercerdale Park Native Garden. DONE
Establish (with City support) new Plantings in the Native Garden and apply gravel to walking paths. Planting parties scheduled for late February-DONE. Gravel spreading-TBD.
Determine new use(s) for Recycling Center: Suggestions for re-purposing the Recycling Center can be emailed to CCMIP at protectmiparks@gmail.com.
