PROTECTION OF NATIVE PLANTS IN THE NATIVE PLANT GARDEN

Volunteers are working in the Native Plant Garden under the direction of Alaine Sommargren and Rita Moore to remove invasive plants and protect our native species. So far volunteers have contributed nearly 900 hours of labor: removing invasive blackberries, spreading wood chips, planting and labeling native species for easy identification by park visitors, watering and on-going maintenance.

If you'd like the fun and fellowship of working with others to protect this precious educational and environmental resource, please email us at protectmiparks@gmail.com for the date and time of the next work party. Or be added to our email list.
